775 - وحدثني العمرى، وعن الهيثم بن عدى قال: كان زياد في سفر، فانقطع سفشق قبائه، فأخرج كثير بن شهاب إبرة كانت مغروزة في قلنسوته وخيطا كان معه فأصلح السفشق.
فقال له زياد: أنت حازم، وما مثلك يعطل.
فولاه بعض الجبل.
